Salmon Celebration in the Don

The fall is a busy and wondrous time as migratory species prepare for their long and challenging journey ahead to their destinations. Some species take flight and others swim upstream to spawn. Join us on Saturday, October 5 to learn about and celebrate the great salmon migration that takes place in the Don River, one of the most urbanized rivers systems in Canada.

The actual timing of when salmon migrate is largely dependent on weather, including rainfall and temperature. The question of ‘When?' is largely up to the salmon, so cross your fingers and toes that they choose to be active in migration during our walk.

Plus, learn about other events in the city inspired by the Salmon Migration, like the Salmon Festival at Highland Creek!
